The Automotive Safety Technologies GmbH (ASTech) was founded in 2009 as a joint venture between the Andata Entwicklungstechnologie GmbH (ANDATA) and the Audi Electronic Venture GmbH (AEV). Our team specifies, develops, integrates, simulates and tests functions, algorithms and software for Driver Assistance Systems & Integrated Safety. Based on the technological approach taken by Andata and the technical know-how of Audis Vehicle Safety Teams, we are creating solutions every day for future safety systems in automobile industry.

Masterarbeit (m/f/d) Numerical simulation and biomechanics for safety

Your job:


  • Improving a human body finite element model focusing on the legs to allow an accurate injury prediction during car accidents.
  • Study of the mechanical behaviour of the human lower legs in dynamic conditions (literature data)
  • Assessment of the behaviour of the THUMS model by comparison with the biomechanical data
  • Improvement of the model if required
  • Development of an injury criterion for the lower legs (under axial loading)
